What a great idea, Najela! But can you read that much in one week? Will you be doing nothing else, maybe? :-)
I'm doing neither one nor the other, although because of NaNoWriMo I will try and write a bit more than I have been.
I'm working on a story/book that I already started a few months ago and I don't want to start from zero again (as is the requirement for NanoWriMo).
Have fun reading, I'll be curious to see how far you can get!
Thanks, it was actually my friend's idea, but I stole it.=) I probably won't read those in a week, but I will probably get them from the library in increments of 8. Plus this is on top of books I have to read for class, so I'm counting those too.
I see. That was a reason why I didn't try to do NaNoWriMo either is because you have to start from scratch.
Thanks for the comment and the luck. I wish you luck on increasing your writing productivity over the course of the month.
Ooh, The Giver is one of my all-time favorites. :D I'm surprised you haven't read it already, I remember in middle school it was a requirement for us to read it. But it's an awesome book -- enjoy! :)
I don't think I'm very good at writing so that's why NaNoWriMo would be good for me: it tells you to keep writing anyway.
But I'm trying to keep going, even if I don't think it's very good.
So you had the same problem as me! Hope you're writing is going well!
@storminmay: The review will be up in a few minutes. I remember we didn't have a chance to get to it, but I do remember starting the book in the car and having to return it to the school library.
@leeswammes: I like that about NaNoWriMo too. It forces you to have discipline. I failed the first time I did it because I couldn't give over letting it just "suck".
